Summer Outing - Golf

There was a very close result with three people finishing on 31 points; Don Murphy managed to win by a short head, in front of the Mitchelstown Micks, Shinnick and Prenderville. In all 30 people played, which was an excellent turnout considering the conditions on the day and the forecast, which kept the fair weather golfers away. The numbers are of course down considerably from years gone by, where we had up to 150 people including guests attending the outing. 

We would very much like to attract new members and “the committee” has decided to waive membership and competition fees, for any new member who would join us, either for the forthcoming outings in Killarney on the 21st and the 22nd of September or  next year.
 
I am pleased to announce that Don Murphy has kindly accepted the Captaincy for next year and this appointment is, no doubt, a great consolation to the runners up last Friday!
 
The Golfer of the year points are attached and hopefully there will be great competition in Killarney for the coveted Trophy.
